Jamie McClain MD
Dr. McClain joined the Anderson Area Cancer Center in July 2018 upon completing his fellowship training. He is a native of Anderson, with deep roots to the area on both sides of his family. He was excited to move home when the opportunity arose, and is passionate about providing current/cutting-edge cancer care to the local community. His particular area of interest is lung cancer, which was his research area during training.
After finishing T.L Hanna high school, Dr. McClain received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Government from Wofford College. He graduated from the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Thereafter, he completed residency in Internal Medicine at GHS/Prisma and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at ECU/Vidant Health. He completed all his training locally in the Carolinas. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine.
When he is not working, Dr. McClain enjoys spending time with his wife Christie (originally from Spartanburg), 2 daughters, Louisa & Betsy, and son Thompson. He is an avid Clemson Tiger and Wofford Terrier sports fan, and a bogey golfer.
